This new course covers the different types of RADAR equipment, their capabilities and limitations. Understand the available features and how they apply to your needs.
Learn how to use your RADAR for collision avoidance and for navigational purposes.
This course covers everything about RADAR from how and where to mount the antenna to how to use and interpret the displays.
Students attending this course should be in possession of their PCOC and have basic navigational knowledge.
How is the Course Delivered?
The Radar for Boaters Course for 2026 will be delivered VIA ZOOM one night per week over 6 weeks. Each weekly session is approximately 2 hours to 2.5 hours in length and the class sessions begin at 7:00 pm PACIFIC time.
The exam needs to be completed within 2 weeks of the last online session and will be scheduled individually with the course instructor.
